ABOUT
John Cheyne is a third-year student at Anglia Ruskin University, looking to complete his degree in Music Performance Ba (Hons). An experienced musician with over ten years performing and recording, he is a multi-instrument musician whose main instruments are guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. He started playing music from a young age, first learning the trumpet, clarinet, and tenor saxophone. John has written and self-produced several projects from his `Straight Lines’ EP and singles `Bored´, `Misophonia´, `Pigs and Sheep (Equal Animals)´and `Dia´. He has seen radio play from several of his tracks, most notably on BBC Introducing in both Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. John is looking towards the future with the aspirations of working as a session musician, television or film scoring and broadening his musical horizons further. Session musician playing bass for the band `Rosary´. Helping to organise band rehearsals, travel to performances, being punctual and learning original material and being able to play it to a good standard on short notice.
MUSIC THERAPY PLACEMENT

Music therapy placement workshops. Creating interesting and engaging music therapy workshops over a five week period. Engaging with participants on a personal level and bringing joy to their lives through the use of music.
LIVE PERFORMANCE
2023
Live performance for Anglia Ruskin University open days, taster events and student showcases. Completing tech requirements, completing a full and high quality set to accompany the theme of the events.
VOLUNTARY CHOIR SINGER
2021
For the summer of 2021 I worked at a local care home to bring them joy through music and social interactions. I was there to help the residents with the music and to help them to feel involved in the activities.
